One of my favorite holiday memories growing up is Thanksgiving 1969, 40 years ago!
I was in the 4th grade, and my childhood best friend, Marty Heaton and his family had moved to Kansas City. Our families were very closes, his parents and mine had been going to Bronco games together for several years while the Heaton’s lived in Denver. That year, we drove to Kansas City, to spend Thanksgiving with them. That would be 8 of us in a Ford Ranch Wagon: My Mom, Dad and 5 brothers and sisters. My youngest sister, Mary Lynn was just 8 weeks old. What was my Mom thinking? As a bonus, the Broncos played the Kansas City Chiefs that year in Kansas City, on Thanksgiving Day, and we all got to go to the game. I remember two things about that game, it was freezing, and the Broncos got whipped, 31-17. It was one of the best Thanksgiving’s of my life! - Dave Gallegos
